Helnwein pt 2

My original suspicions were proven true, as the image was completely raw and not photoshopped. The image, as we know it now, is a close up shot of a little girl's face. She has a blank look on her face, signifying no discernible emotion and giving a atmosphere of innocence to her. I feel that there is no real hidden meaning behind the photo by itself, as knowing Helnwein's work, he tends to do a lot of work with people and faces. What's extremely interesting is that the image is of a massive scale but is in a location which is essentially hidden away in an industrial back alley. I think that this makes the name, "The Last Girl" very appropriate, because you would expect the last of something to be hard to find or hidden. I feel this really adds to the presentation of the piece, as it would not feel as special if it weren't shown in this way. Gottfried Helnwein image response

This image depicts a man scaling a woman's face with a line, as one would while rock climbing. I feel this is an artistic image, not necessarily representing anything but making for an interesting visual piece. I do not believe this piece was photoshopped but uses props, knowing of some of Helnwein's other work. I feel his intent was to create an interesting scene without an assigned meaning, creating room for interpretation of it. I personally interpret its meaning as being to pay close attention to the details of someone, as the person is so small compared to the face, in a real life situation you would need to look carefully to see it.
